Vegetarian Paté with Mushrooms

Here is a paté which serves the same purpose as the traditioinal paté, but is made of mushrooms and fresh herbs instead of liver. A delicious spread for biscuits, crackers, or breads.



  • 500 gr sliced mushrooms
  • 1 diced onion
  • 2 tblsp butter
  • 4 cloves of crushed garlic
  • 180 gr bread crumbs (I used fresh then pan fried them a little)
  • 3 tblsp chopped parsley
  • 1 tblsp finely chopped rosemary
  • A pinch of herbs de Provence
  • 2 tblsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
