French Orange and Almond Pudding

A simple dessert, full of beautiful orange flavour, and not complicated to make.




  • 200 gr sugar
  • Combine juice of 1 orange and 200 gr water
  • When water, sugar and orange juice has boiled, place 4 thin slices of orange into this mixture and slowly boil for an hour.


  • 2 good size oranges (use 1 orange for grating zest and 1 for juice)
  • 2 eggs
  • 80 gr butter
  • 130 gr caster sugar
  • 165 gr almond meal
  • 80 gr plain flour
  • 1 tblsp maple syrup
