French Lemon and Olive Oil Tart
What seems to look like a simple lemon tart, is very tasty and the filling is so silky smooth. Don’t be put off by the number of ingredients, it looks like a never ending list which seems a bit overwhelming for such a simple dessert.
Herb Butter
What a wonderful way to use up the herbs from your garden. This herb butter is so simple, tasty, and it will keep in the freezer for later use, either on fish, meat, sauces or on warm bread.
Salmon Roulade with Herbs and Parmesan
The word roulade stems from the French term for rolling meat or pastry around a savoury or sweet filling. In this case we have a salmon based filling which is wrapped with a spinach and egg roulade.
Provencal Cheese and Herb Log
France is renowned all over the world for its beautiful tasty cheeses. Because there are so many different cheeses in France, entertaining at home always includes a variety of cheeses. Here we have a mixture of three cheeses, blended with a few herbs, and rolled into a ball or shaped into a log form. This is a wonderful appetizer which can be prepared 2 days in advance.
French Style Whole Roasted Onions
A very tasty side dish to have with any meal, particularly with meat. This roasted onion holds together very well when you cut through it. While the outside has a charred bacon taste and a crispy topping, the inside is creamy and full of flavour.
White Chocolate Buche de Noel
Buche de Noel is the French name for a Christmas cake shaped like a log. This is a heavenly cake rolled with either chocolate or whipped cream. It can be a chocolate cake or a white cake. Traditionally, Buche de Noel is decorated with icing sugar to resemble snow on a Yule log. It was originally a Nordic tradition. Yule is the name of the old Winter Solstice festivals in parts of northern Europe... In some eastern European countries, the log was cut down on Christmas Eve morning and lit that evening.
